Name: Saul Dingle Fletcher
Played-by: Adam Brody
Date of Birth/Age: November 17, 1984
Occupation: Delivery/Errand person for Interior Design Firm

Family and Brief Bio: Saul was born in Fargo, North Dakota to Sarah Dingle and Ezekiel Fletcher, who had been married a little over a year upon Saul's arrival. Saul would be their only child. His parents had always said they wanted more children, but it just wasn't in the cards. His mother had almost died during her pregnancy with Saul.

Saul's family moved from Fargo to New York when Saul was 3. His father had always wanted to work in the entertainment industry and was awarded a job in the mailroom at Island Records. Ezekiel had to work 2 jobs early on in their move to New York in order to afford a very small apartment in Queens. Several years and promotions later, they were finally able to buy a house in the Long Island Sound. This was when Saul actually started to make friends. His family was thrust full force into the Jewish scene of bar mitzvahs and seders with the neighbors. It was good for Saul to make friends, but he was still that shy and awkward kid.

His teachers would have looked at his name on their roll books and described him as an excellent student. He obtained straight As all through middle and high school without missing a day of class, but his teachers couldn't really tell you what he looked like. Saul was the kind of guy who was inevitably described as invisible. He was the quiet kid who sat at the back of the class. He studied incessantly when he wasn't playing video games and/or learning computer graphics in his free time. Saul was a smart kid, and he could have gone anywhere to college.

Could have, but didn't. He decided to skip college and work on following his dreams. His dream was to become a musician. He had learned the guitar when he was 6. His father had brought one home and various band members traveling through town had each taught the small boy something different. Music was what really excited Saul, and he could feel it running through his veins. Saul however has yet to actually make it as a musician, and he may not. He moved to Mobile shortly after high school.

Personality: Saul is still sort of that invisible kid. He sees many of the same people every day on the subway, on deliveries, in his favorite bagel place, or even in his favorite lunch spot, but none of them would know him by name. He'd certainly introduced himself to a few of them, but Saul was still the nerdy kid who just blended into the crowd. This has it's upsides of course, because it merely meant he hadn't screwed up. He was average at his job, which helped pay the rent on his Philadelphia apartment, and he was personable enough to carry on a conversation with on the subway. If you took enough time to really talk to Saul though, you'd quickly realize there was more than meets the eye.

Saul is the guy who can make inappropriate jokes or seem a little self absorbed but in the end if you needed him for anything then you've got it. He's a loyal friend, and he's great at keeping secrets. He's a hopeless romantic at heart, and he hopes to someday find that special woman who makes his heart skip beats as time stands still.

Strengths/Weaknesses: Saul's biggest strength is his loyalty. He's loyal to a fault, but he would still consider that to be a strength. He's the guy that you can count on at 3AM when you're drunk as shit and don't know how to get home, or when you just need a shoulder to cry on after a bad break up. His biggest weakness is his inability to say no. He is the guy who piles way too much on his plate, because he doesn't know how to say that he can't do something. It's a lesson that his bitten him many times, but he still always falls victim.

Relationships/Love Life: Saul was sort of unlucky in love. He spent his entire life being in love with his best friend. He finally told her, and she agreed that she loved him too. It was perfect. They were perfect. Everyone thought that they would be together forever. Then there was the accident. The accident that took the love of his life from him. This had the most profound effect on him as a person and as a potential lover, but he knows it is now time to overcome it. They were 18, and he had decided to stay home instead of going to that party with her. She fell when a spindle came loose from the balcony and fell 6 stories to her death. He kicked himself for not going, but he's pretty sure he couldn't have saved her. He hopes to find love again.
